 Residential Apartment Program

The Residential Apartment Program is a program designed to provide direct care services and support for individuals who have the ability to live on their own with support. In this program, we provide Community Support Specialists who work 1:1 with the person for a specified number of hours per week with a designated schedule. The hours and schedule are based on the persons needs and funding rate. The level and type of support is individualized and designed to support the person to reach their personal outcomes (what is important in their life) and meet their various needs. Many individuals choose to live in an apartment by themselves and others choose to live with housemates.  In this program, our agency has the responsibility for all aspects of the persons day to day needs which include medical, health, behavioral, safety, programmatic, financial, nutritional, and home/environmental needs. These needs are met through our Community Support Specialists and our Management and Administrative Personnel. Each person in the Residential Apartment Program has 24-hour access to our support services in addition to their individually designed support services. It should be noted that in one of the apartment complexes where numerous individuals reside in individual apartments, we have an employee who lives on site and has specific responsibilities above and beyond the employees that provide 1:1 support to each person. This Residential Apartment Program is a favorable one for individuals who are able to live in a setting without round the clock supervision. Our agency prides itself in its excellent matching and interview process for the Individual and the Community Support Specialist in the Residential Apartment Program.

The Residential Apartment Program has another unique option that some parents have designed for their sons and daughters. The setting is much like the one described above, in terms of Community Support Specialists, designated schedules, agency responsibilities, etc. In addition to that level of support, these parents have found non-paid housemates who reside in the same setting. This provides an added layer of comfort, in terms of someone else living and sleeping in the same apartment. It should be noted that the non-paid housemates are fully the responsibility of the parent. The agency does ensure that the housemate meets state regulations in terms of background checks.
